I've been coming here for almost 4 years and am extremely happy here. The staff is helpful and quick to respond, Marsha has been here for years and always greets you happily and willing to help. Dr. Dacres is my doctor and is absolutly wonderful and listens to you. I recommend this facility to anyone looking for long term psychatric care, they truly are the best I have ever experienced.
Coming here has literally saved my life. They are always loving, welcome, patient and understanding. Even though my coverage fluctuated they were able to take me back as soon as I was covered again. Twice.
I have been a patient at Porter for almost a year and a half now and have yet to have anything other than delightful experiences with them. The receptionists are super nice, my psychiatrist Carolyn actually *listens* to me and has been so incredibly helpful in finding the right treatment for my issues, and my therapist Stephanie is an absolute delight. I have no idea why their google reviews are not more positive, because I love this place so much that I'm willing to drive over an hour to get there.
Outstanding critical care and patient services. Nationally recognized for quality in several areas.
This is the most compassionate/reliable; "group," I've ever experienced! I love Carolyn Dacres, Anna, Alexa, Susan and everyone up front!
I was first taken to Porter Memorial Hospital in 1989 on a 72 hour psychiatric (suicide) hold, and I fell in love with their psychiatric ward. Since then, I keep returning because of the overall excellence in treatment I receive. Back a couple of years ago, I went to their ER asking for relief from my benzodiazaprine (tranquilizers) withdrawals - and THEY WERE THE ONLY HOSPITAL IN DENVER WHO'D HELP ME. The others just threw me back onto the streets in severe pain and anguish (Thanks St. Joseph's Hospital, Denver Health, & Aurora Medical Center). The staff at PMH exemplify the Christian principles for which they stand, and although I'm not Christian, these 7th Day Adventists are an inspiration.
Everyone was very nice on third floor. Nurses were very kind. Except for one nurse in the recovery room. She was very mean. I was in alot of pain after having stomach surgery. It was very painful. She got mad at me for crying out in pain. She had no empathy!! I can usually stand pain but I could not stand that pain!! Very rude to me n mean. I hope she doesn't do the same to anybody else that is crying in alot of pain!!
Billing dept. is a pain! (pun intended)
I had been seeing another psychiatrist who was not associated with this office who had me on so many psych meds I was having neurological symptoms that simulated early dementia or Parkinson's. I switched to this practice and have been under the highly competent care of Jessica Fynboh. She got me off of all that harmful medication and I now take only one med. She is by far the best medication manager I have ever seen. The staff is always helpful and courteous. Highly recommended.
2 years after an ER visit and I'm getting bill collectors calling me for bills I never received. They will milk you for every penny you're worth hoping you'll give up and just pay. Don't pay, fight! Or better yet just don't go there. Update: Turns out a company called N.A.R. is trying to scam me. If you receive a letter from those crooks call your lawyer. This was not Porter's fault.
Ive never had a bad experience here and am not sure how people could describe the staff as rude or neglectful. Have always found the staff in all departments to be very helpful and caring
At the Joint Replacement the Doctors Care is great I was in terrible pain and they took care of me. I was able to walk informants after the shots took a effect in my knee at 2535 Downing Street
@PorterHospital Porter Culinary in #Denver was great. As a guest of an admitted patient, I had several days to try the room service. A wide selection on the menu was a delight. Delicious black coffee, biscuit and gravy, turkey bacon, hamburger on wheat bun with all the necessary condiments, French fries and a delicious vanilla milkshake were what I had over the course of three days. The biscuit and gravy I had more than once. The prices were beyond reasonable. Cheap I decree. While patients eat for free free, the guest prices were really good. Delicious meals without breaking the bank. That is the best I always say. If in hospital or as a guest, don't fret about hospital food here. Try it. You'll be glad you did.
I spent one night after knee replacement surgery and it was a wonderful experience. Excellent care that allowed me to go home the next day.
I had highly successful back surgery, thanks to Dr. Michael Gallizzi. I spent the night and everyone was so kind and thoughtful. I had such a wonderful experience at Porter, that my standard poodle and I are going to volunteer there!
Had knee replacement surgery and the staff treated me very well, rooms were clean, food was great, pre-op treatment excellent (loved the foot massage), don't remember much about post-op but am sure it was great. Nurses and therapists were great. Had to go the ER after being released, (nothing they did wrong, medical complication from previous condition) the ER staff treated me well, ER doctor spent a lot of time with me to make sure everything was ok. ER nurse stayed over and made sure I got what I needed to get home since we lived out of state and went above and beyond making call. Bill was way cheaper then what I would have paid if I got same treatment in Wyoming. Thanks for great care!
The staff here are amazing and they keep you in the loop. But my only concern is when your visiting a patient they don't allow you to do an over night stay. They don't allow family sleep with the patient!
This hospital has saved my Dear Mothers and Life! She is presently still in ICU..... this is her first time as a emergency patient....and this hospital is very firm with not giving her medications! Especially when it affects her breathing.... i like that Porter hospital don't care how long my Mom has been on her medications... they will not allow her to take then! As another hospital does! I think this hospital is great....
I recently had back surgery at porters. While not my favorite pastime the staff at porters did everything they could to make my surgery and post care go as smoothly as possible. Even with the lights going out and fire alarms going off pre surgery during a blizzard. On my floor (5) all the staff from house keeping to nurses to physical therapists tried to make me as comfortable and informed as I could be. If you ever find yourself in need of care, Porters is a great facility with excellent staff
